I think from this week onwards, I’ll probably do all my modelling work at home and my Unreal Project. To keep this brief, Maya 2017 (as of this update) is unstable, it is riddled with bugs and isn’t as backwards compatible as I thought it would be and I hope Autodesk fixes the issues it has, especially with how stable Maya 2016 is.
With that out of the way, I’ve done some progress on my furniture and turned my plane of walls into 3D meshes. Once I am happy with how everything looks, I will UV it and export it.
With that said, I weighted everything and am placing the IK and FK controls on my character. The placing doesn’t take much time to do but it’s something to do while I’m working through the videos.
Everything’s on track so far.
